Another successful ISBA conference – did you pick up your cup?

Earlier this year in Edinburgh we attended our 9th ISBA conference. In fact, we may well have seen you there!

We’ve been to every conference since we launched ISCC in 2007, and at the very first one we gave out ‘The Bursar’s Cup’ with the date and conference location on – a nice bone china one, perfect for your morning cuppa. As this year’s Conference was up in Edinburgh our mug had a tartan background!

Talking with Bursar’s we understand that they have become a bit of a collectors’ item, and many of you make a point of coming to pick up the latest version. There are cupboards all over the country with ISCC ‘Bursar’s Cups’ in them! We also run a competition with a prize draw – this year’s prize was a Scottish themed Fortnum & Mason hamper, won by Kathryn Pillar at Rydes Hill School in Surrey.

What we particularly enjoy about the ISBA Conference is the chance to chat to so many of our customers in a setting outside of the normal school environment. It’s also wonderful to see new faces that come along to say hello because they’ve been referred by a friend or colleague. Managing Director, Simon Pollard jokes:

“Our stand neighbours are always delighted to be sited next to us as they say ours is the busiest stand … there’s a constant flow of people!”

The annual ISBA Conference quite simply is our new business lifeblood as we specialise and work exclusively within Independent Schools sector. The Bursar’s Review is the only magazine we advertise in.

We would like to say a very big thank you to all of our clients, and everyone who comes to visit us on the stand – it is an absolute pleasure catching up with everybody and we always come away buzzing.

Next year in Manchester will be our 10th anniversary – what will we do to celebrate? You’ll have to pop by and find out!
